Rock Da Floor Kids Dance Battles was founded by NYC pioneer bgirl, Honey Rockwell, in 2010. In 2013, she expanded the battles by opening up her own dance school, Rockwell Dance Academy, in Acworth, Georgia. As a studio focused on the original hip-hop dance styles, these battles were created for kids to learn how to perform, compete, and demonstrate other knowledge of the styles taught in class. Parents benefit from their child participating in battles, because it gives them a firsthand look at what their child has learned and accomplished.
Rock Da Floor Kids Dance Battles is a family-fun event that is open to kids of all ages and all skill levels. The focus is on the positive elements of Hip Hop culture. All battles are concluded with an award ceremony and include a secret judge for the titles of Circle Prince and Circle Princess.
Rock Da Floor's goal for the upcoming year is to expand and obtain more participation by a wider circle of schools, studios and teachers to create the ultimate worldwide kids event.
